The short version. Pluck detects, matches and translates your selected text on your own Mac. That text is not sent to our servers, and we do not store it. Two things do leave your Mac: an update check to our website, and a licence activation to Lemon Squeezy. And when you run an action you chose — a web search, opening a URL, a shell command — the text goes wherever that action sends it. We do not do advertising, cross-site tracking, or user profiling.
This policy covers everything around Pluck: the App, this website, downloads and update checks, licence activation, purchases and licence management on Lemon Squeezy, and support, refunds and enquiries by email.
The party responsible for personal data handled by us (the data controller, where that concept applies) is Wataridori Inc. (株式会社ワタリドリ), 660 Okami, Aoki-mura, Chiisagata-gun, Nagano, Japan, contactable at [email protected].
Lemon Squeezy, as Merchant of Record for purchases, handles purchase data as an independent controller in its own right, not merely on our behalf. Section 6 explains the split.
Pluck reads text through two routes, and in both cases detection, matching against your rules, and translation happen on your Mac. The text is not transmitted to us, and we do not store it.
But actions you run can send that text elsewhere, because that is what you asked them to do. When you choose "web search", the text goes to the search engine (Google by default). When you choose an "open URL" action, the matched text is built into a URL and opened in your browser — so it may reach Jira, GitHub, your mail client, or whichever service the URL points to. When you run a shell command you configured, it does whatever you wrote. Once the data reaches those services, their own privacy policies apply.
Translation runs on your device through Apple's Translation framework. The first time you translate a given language pair, macOS may need to download a language model from Apple; that download is between your Mac and Apple.
Pluck keeps the following in your own user library. None of it is uploaded to us.
~/Library/Application Support/Pluck/rules.json~/Library/Preferences/com.toriumi0118.pluck.plistapp.pluck.license). It is stored there deliberately so that reinstalling the App does not restart the trial.~/Library/Application Support/Pluck/debug.log. It records events such as the bundle identifier of the app you were in and the length of the text involved. It is written so as not to record the text or clipboard content itself. It is capped at about 1 MB and is truncated when it exceeds that. It is not uploaded.Retention and deletion. These files stay until you delete them, and dragging the App to the Trash does not remove them. To remove everything: deactivate your licence in the App first (so the activation is freed), then delete the ~/Library/Application Support/Pluck folder and ~/Library/Preferences/com.toriumi0118.pluck.plist, and delete the app.pluck.license entry in Keychain Access. Deleting the Keychain entry resets the stored trial start date.
When you activate, re-validate or deactivate a licence, the App contacts api.lemonsqueezy.com over HTTPS. Re-validation happens quietly at launch when a key is stored; if you are offline, the App keeps its current state rather than locking you out.
What the App sends:
Lemon Squeezy also sees your IP address, as any web service does. The App uses an ephemeral session, so no cookies are kept.
What the App uses from the reply: whether the operation succeeded, the licence status, the instance ID, and the product ID (used to reject keys issued for a different product). Lemon Squeezy's licence API response may also contain order and customer fields; the App does not store or display them, and they are not sent to us. What the App keeps locally is listed in section 3.
The App does not send us any device identifier, hardware serial, usage statistics or telemetry. We do not operate an analytics or licence server of our own.
The App uses Sparkle 2.9.3 to check for updates against https://pluck-now.com/appcast.xml, which is served from Cloudflare Pages. With the current settings it checks on launch and roughly once a day. If an update is downloaded, the file is fetched from the same host.
Pluck/<app version> Sparkle/<Sparkle version> — so it discloses the app name, the installed version, and the Sparkle version.defaults write com.toriumi0118.pluck SUEnableAutomaticChecks -bool falsePurchases go through Lemon Squeezy as Merchant of Record. Payment details are entered on Lemon Squeezy's own checkout; we never receive or handle your card number.
As the store owner, we can see, in the Lemon Squeezy dashboard, the order information Lemon Squeezy makes available to us — typically the customer name and email address, order and product details, the amount and currency, the country/region used for tax, and the licence keys issued with their activation instances (including the instance names described in section 4).
We use that information only to provide the licence, to answer support requests, to handle refunds, to detect and prevent abuse of licence keys, and to meet legal or accounting obligations. Lemon Squeezy processes the same transaction under its own privacy policy as an independent controller, including for payment, tax and fraud purposes.
When you email us, we receive whatever you send: your name and email address, the content of your message and any attachments, and often purchase details, a licence key, or technical information such as your macOS version, the app version, or an excerpt of the diagnostic log you chose to send. Please send only what is needed, and redact anything sensitive.
We use it to answer you, to investigate bugs, to process refunds, to verify licences, to respond to security issues, and to handle legal claims.
Retention. We delete support correspondence once the matter is closed and we no longer need it. We keep it longer only where we still need it — an open refund, a possible chargeback, or a legal claim — and then only until that is resolved. Records tied to a purchase (order references, refunds) are kept for as long as tax and accounting law requires: in Japan, generally up to 7 years.

We do not sell or rent personal data, use it for advertising, share it with data brokers, use it to train AI or machine-learning models, or build profiles of individuals. We do not do cross-site tracking.
This website is static HTML hosted on Cloudflare Pages, and app downloads are served from the same place. Cloudflare processes standard request data — IP address, User-Agent, time, requested URL, and similar — to deliver the content, to protect against attacks and abuse, and to diagnose faults. Lemon Squeezy and Cloudflare operate internationally, so data may be processed outside Japan, including in the United States (mail hosting is in Japan). We choose providers that publish their own data-protection commitments and, where the law requires it, rely on the transfer mechanisms those providers offer, such as standard contractual clauses.

Where a third party holds the data, that party's own retention policy applies.
You may ask us to tell you how we use your information, to give you a copy of what we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, to stop using it or sharing it, or to withdraw a consent you gave. Email [email protected] from the address you used with us, and describe what you want. We reply without undue delay and normally within 30 days. There is no charge, unless a request is manifestly excessive.
Two limits are worth knowing:

We sell to customers in these regions and do not restrict access by country, so the following applies to you.
We do not claim blanket "GDPR compliance" as a marketing statement; the paragraphs above describe what we actually do.
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the information we hold: the App talks to Lemon Squeezy over HTTPS; updates are signed with an EdDSA key and verified by Sparkle before installation; this website is served over HTTPS; and access to the Lemon Squeezy dashboard and the support mailbox is limited to the people who need it. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Please treat your licence key like a password: do not post it in public issue trackers, forums or screenshots. When sending us a diagnostic log or a screenshot, check what it contains first.
Pluck is a general-purpose utility for adults and is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from children. We do not operate our own age gate; purchases go through Lemon Squeezy and are subject to its terms. If you are a minor, please buy only with the consent of a parent or guardian, as required by the law that applies to you.
We may update this policy. The last updated and effective dates at the top always reflect the current version. For changes that materially affect how we handle your information, we will give notice at least 30 days in advance by a reasonable means — a notice on this website, and in the App or by email where practical. If we ever want to use information already collected for a genuinely new purpose, we will give the notice or obtain the consent that the law requires before doing so.

要点。Pluck は、選択テキストの検出・照合・翻訳を、利用者ご自身の Mac 上で行います。選択テキストが当方のサーバーへ送信されることはなく、当方が保存することもありません。端末外へ出るのは、当方サイトへの更新確認と、Lemon Squeezy へのライセンス認証の2つです。加えて、利用者がアクション（Web検索、URLを開く、シェルコマンド）を実行した場合、そのアクションが送る先へテキストが渡ります。当方は、広告目的の行動追跡、クロスサイトトラッキング、利用者プロファイルの作成を行いません。

購入取引の Merchant of Record である Lemon Squeezy は、購入に関する情報を当方の委託先としてではなく、独立した管理者として取り扱います。役割の切り分けは第6条をご覧ください。
Pluck がテキストを読み取る経路は2つあり、いずれの場合も検出、ルールとの照合、翻訳は利用者の Mac 上で行われます。当方へ送信されることも、当方が保存することもありません。
ただし、利用者が実行したアクションは、そのテキストを外部へ渡します。それが利用者の指示した動作だからです。「Web検索」を選べば検索エンジン（既定では Google）へ、「URLを開く」を選べばマッチしたテキストを組み込んだ URL がブラウザで開かれ、Jira、GitHub、メールソフトなど URL の指す先へ渡り得ます。設定したシェルコマンドを実行すれば、そのコマンドが行うことを実行します。外部サービスに渡った後は、当該サービスのプライバシーポリシーが適用されます。
翻訳は Apple の Translation フレームワークにより端末内で処理されます。ある言語ペアで初めて翻訳するとき、macOS が Apple から言語モデルをダウンロードする場合があります。この通信は利用者の Mac と Apple の間で行われます。
Pluck は、利用者自身のライブラリ領域に次のものを保存します。いずれも当方へアップロードされません。

ライセンスの有効化、再検証、解除の際、アプリは HTTPS で api.lemonsqueezy.com に接続します。キーが保存されている場合、起動時に静かに再検証が行われます。オフラインのときは、利用できなくなることを避けるため、現在の状態を維持します。
アプリが送信する情報
あわせて、ウェブサービス一般と同様に、Lemon Squeezy には利用者の IP アドレスが見えます。アプリは一時セッションを用いるため、Cookie は保持しません。
アプリが応答から利用する情報は、処理の成否、ライセンスの状態、instance ID、および商品ID（他商品のキーを弾くために使用）です。Lemon Squeezy のライセンスAPIの応答には注文や購入者に関する項目が含まれる場合がありますが、アプリはこれらを保存も表示もせず、当方へ送信することもありません。アプリが端末内に保存する内容は第3条のとおりです。
アプリが当方へ端末識別子、ハードウェアのシリアル番号、利用統計、テレメトリーを送信することはありません。当方は独自の解析サーバーもライセンスサーバーも運用していません。

メールをいただくと、送っていただいた内容を当方が受け取ります。お名前とメールアドレス、本文、添付ファイル、多くの場合は購入情報、ライセンスキー、技術情報（macOS のバージョン、アプリのバージョン、送っていただいた診断ログの抜粋など）が含まれます。必要な範囲に絞り、機微な情報は伏せてお送りください。
利用目的は、ご質問への回答、不具合の調査、返金対応、ライセンスの確認、セキュリティ上の問題への対応、法的請求への対応です。
保存期間。お問い合わせのやり取りは、対応が完了し、保持する必要がなくなった時点で削除します。返金の手続き中、チャージバックの可能性、法的請求への対応など、なお保持する必要がある場合に限り、その解決まで保持します。購入に紐づく記録（注文番号、返金の記録）は、税務・会計法令が求める期間（日本では原則として最長7年）保持します。

利用目的の通知、保有個人データの開示、訂正、削除、利用停止、第三者提供の停止、同意の撤回を求めることができます。当方とのやり取りに用いたメールアドレスから [email protected] 宛に、ご希望の内容を添えてご連絡ください。遅滞なく、通常は30日以内に回答します。明らかに過剰な請求である場合を除き、手数料はいただきません。
次の2点にご留意ください。
日本国内では、当方の対応にご納得いただけない場合、個人情報保護委員会へ申し出ることもできます。
当方はこれらの地域の利用者への販売を受け付けており、国による制限を設けていません。したがって以下が適用されます。
当方は「GDPR完全準拠」といった包括的な宣言は行いません。上記は、当方が実際に行っていることの記述です。

Pluck は成人の利用を想定した汎用ユーティリティであり、子どもを対象としたサービスではありません。当方が子どもから情報を意図的に取得することはありません。当方独自の年齢確認は設けておらず、購入は Lemon Squeezy を通じて行われ、同社の規約が適用されます。未成年の方は、適用される法令に従い、保護者の同意を得たうえでご購入ください。
本ポリシーを変更することがあります。冒頭の最終更新日および発効日は常に現行版のものです。情報の取り扱いに実質的な影響を与える変更については、発効日の30日前までに、合理的な方法（本ウェブサイトへの掲示に加え、可能な場合はアプリ内またはメール）により周知します。すでに取得した情報を新たな目的で利用しようとする場合は、事前に法令が求める通知または同意取得を行います。
